GOLF INDUSTRY VETERAN EDDIE CARBONE
TO LEAD BOCA RATON REGIONAL HOSPITAL CHAMPIONSHIP
AS NEW DIRECTOR

"The Boca Raton Regional Hospital Championship has been a tremendous event over the last 11 years," Carbone said. "I'm looking forward to working with the Championship staff and the members of The Old Course at Broken Sound Club to ensure that this vital community continues to deliver for our charities and the community for many years to come.
"The Boca Raton Regional Hospital Championship has become one of the players' favorite tournaments on the PGA TOUR Champions and we will continue to showcase this great event."
Carbone spent the last three years as executive director of the U.S. Senior Open at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Mass. Prior to that, Carbone spent a decade as executive director of the PGA TOUR event held at Trump National Doral near Miami (the Ford Championship, which later became the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship).
"After two and half years on the North Shore of Boston, I'm looking forward to getting back to family and friends throughout South Florida, and working to bring folks from the Northeast to participate in this incredible event that showcases all South Florida has to offer," Carbone said.
This year's tournament attracted more than 50,000 fans to the Old Course at Broken Sound. They were treated to the best field in PGA TOUR Champions history and a thrilling finish, Scott McCarron winning with an 8-foot eagle on the par-5 18th hole.  The close finish continued a trend where the tournament has gone to a playoff or been decided by one shot eight of the last nine years.
The Boca Raton Regional Hospital is the tournament's primary beneficiary. The first full-field event on the 50-and-older circuit will be held Feb. 5-11, 2018.
