Free Crafts and Entertainment for Children's Day

Today is Children's Day at the Westown Farmers' Market! Children's Day activities will take place from 10am - 1pm and include story time, arts and crafts, dancers and more! All materials for arts and crafts are free and it is

encouraged that finished projects be brought home to enjoy. Also, don't miss Roscoe from the Milwaukee Admirals! He'll be making an appearance as well.

Here is a full schedule for Children's Day:

10:00 a.m -10:30 am: Story Time with the Milwaukee Public Library

10:30 am -11:30 am: Arts and Crafts with Artists Working in Education

11:00 am -12:00 pm: Balloon Artist Peter John Lindsay from Half Twisted-Half Knot

12:00 pm -1:00 pm: Performance by Glencastle Irish Dancers

Please note that the market will run its normal hours today from 10am - 2 pm. Make sure you stop by and enjoy lunch from one of our many lunch vendors. While you're at the market, don't forget to check out the fresh, Wisconsin produce that's available every week.

Lopez Bakery

This week's Vendor of the Week is Lopez Bakery. Lopez Bakery is a market favorite every Wednesday! They serve loaded nachos, tacos, tamales, rice and enchiladas. You can also purchase their homemade salsa and chips at the market every week. While the lunch items are overwhelmingly popular, they also serve baked goods and Jarritos soda. Make sure to stop at Lopez Bakery this week and see why they're always so busy!

Thriftones Perform at River Rhythms Tonight

The Thriftones have given traditional retro rock music a fresh twist with their folk rock sound. While they are best described as folk rock, the band draws influence from a wide variety of musical genres. This Milwaukee native band can be found playing shows all across the city at local bars, outdoor festivals, and art galleries.

This free, weekly concert series, presented by Miller Lite, takes place in Pere Marquette Park every Wednesday through

August 30th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Miller products, a Ciroc cocktail, wine and soda will be available at the Westown Beverage tent with all proceeds benefiting the free event. Patrons will also have a variety of food options available, so it is advised to come hungry!

Stop By the Night Market Tonight

The third NEWaukee Night Market of the season takes place tonight. The Night Market is a monthly open-air market that offers a wide variety of experiences for people of all backgrounds and ages on West Wisconsin Avenue between 2nd and 4th Streets.

Again this year we are aiming to connect the Westown Farmers' Market, River Rhythms and the Newaukee Night Market to further expand upon the exciting momentum in Westown.

The Night Market runs from 5 - 10pm on the following Wednesdays: August 16 and September 13. Visit Newaukee for more information.
