BACK-to-SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE
Our campus will be open this Wednesday, August 16th, for our Back-to-School Open House beginning at 5:00 PM in the Church where Fr. Greg will open the evening and address the entire school community.
Beginning at 5:30 PM, all classrooms, the STEAM Lab, Music room, Media Center/Library, Guidance Center, and the Atria will be open until 7:00 PM.
Parents of students in grades 6-8 will be able to follow their child's schedule.
Math Department chair, Sue Alpers, will be available for questions in the Math Room.
Reading Resource teacher, Kathy Johnson, will be available in the Reading Resource Room.
Athletic Directors Andy Kiltz and Deni Ewell will have a table set up outside.
Kate Kloeber will be in the Club Elevate room in Maguire Hall. Ray Nelson, Band Director, will also be in Maguire Hall.
Several after school programs will have tables set up outside.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening.

WELCOME TO THE NEW GUIDANCE CENTER!
At Open House on Wednesday evening, please stop in to see the new Guidance Center, now located in Maguire Hall across from the Media Center.
The guidance program at OLPH exists to support students, families, and teachers in developing each child's potential for learning, and to help work through any obstacles to their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
I work with individuals, small groups, and whole classes to develop positive social skills, teach brain-based tools for self-regulation, and encourage a positive social environment throughout the school. I provide guidance for short-term or drop-in issues such as friendship concerns, and I provide counseling support for the bigger issues and concerns that students have as well. With the new (and larger) Guidance Center, I will be expanding programming throughout the year for individuals and groups, including several new in-school service opportunities for our middle school students.
As I enter my 13th year as your school counselor, I continue to feel blessed with the privilege and joy of serving the students and families of our school community. If you have any concerns about your child through the school year, academically, socially, or emotionally, please feel free to contact me as another support person available to you and your child in addition to their teachers. We are all here to partner with you in helping your child grow in knowledge, love, and service.

SCHOOL SPORTS
Welcome back everyone!
After school sports will begin August 28th
with volleyball for girls in grades
5-8
and flag football for boys in grades 5
-8
.
Practices will be held Monday - Thursday, from 3-4:30 PM.
Students will be able to sign up during PE classes in the next two weeks.
Please complete and turn in the athletic packet and the $75 sports fee by Friday August 25th
.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING & RENEWAL
New parent volunteers must complete the Safe Environment Training class and complete a volunteer application. Returning parent volunteers must complete the 2017 online renewal class.
