ATTENTION
Woodbury Park (aka Walton Project) Scheduled to Go Before
Fulton County Board of Commissioners Again!
This Wednesday, August 16, 2017, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners will meet at 10 AM at the Fulton County Government Center Assembly Hall, 141 Pryor Street SW, Atlanta, Georgia.
They Board of Commissioners will take action on the Walton Project (aka Woodbury Park E-Commerce & Distribution Center Project), there are three zoning petitions for the project that are under review.
Fulton County Commissioner's Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. and Emma I. Darnell held a Community Charrette to get community input on the p
roposed 316.8 acre site located on the southeast side of Fulton Industrial Boulevard at Riverside Drive. T
he slated output was the development of a community benefits agreement between the Sandtown Steering Committee and Walton, the property owners for the Woodbury Park project, but it has not been finalized.
The updated zoning requests for the Woodbury Park project will be heard by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to be heard on August 16, 2017 (see agenda). Please take the time to call all the commissioners and express your views on this project.

CITY OF SOUTH FULTON CODE ENFORCEMENT
TELL LINE ESTABLISHED

The City of South Fulton Tell Line, responds to citizen complaints that pertain to code enforcement, erosion control, water bans, water quality, scrap tire and other environmental issues.
The Tell Line service is provided to assist citizens in their efforts to maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment in the city.

AUGUST 8 - CITY COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
T
wo new members of the city’s staff started on August 7 and were introduced: Chata Spikes, joined the City of South Fulton Office of Communications & External Affairs as the Communications Director and Teresa Adams, joined the Office of Finance as the Purchasing Manager.
Several resolutions were passed:
- A resolution to authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to enter into a cooperation agreement between the City of South Fulton and the Airport West Community Improvement District (CID).
- A resolution adopting a fee schedule for services for business licenses, planning, zoning, building, etc. The fees previously in place in Fulton County. Click here to view the fee schedule.
- A resolution authorizing the city to secure Workers’ Compensation insurance coverage through the Georgia Municipal Association.
There was no action taken on first readings of amendments to ordinances related to personnel (introduced by Gilyard and Jackson), as well as an amendment to the Board of Code Enforcement ordinance (Kamau), that would change the name to the Building Code Enforcement Board.
Action was taken at the meeting on the following:
- A resolution regarding standards for issuing Proclamations and Letters of Commendation (Sponsor Rowell: Passed).
- A second vote on the resolution to Amend the City’s Holiday Schedule to Recognize Election Day as an Annual Official City Holiday (Sponsor Kamau: Veto by Mayor Upheld with 4-3 vote; 5 votes needed to overturn veto).
- A resolution to approve seven part-time Council Aides (Sponsor Khalid Kamau added to the agenda; passed with 4-3 vote; 5 votes needed to overturn veto).
- A motion to issue Request for Proposal to Hire Executive Search Firm to shortlist candidates for the City Manager and Police Chief (Gumbs: Passed).
