Ph.D. Alumni Named Director 
Leads Department of Biomedical Engineering 

Congratulations to Michael Miller, Ph.D., who became director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering effective July 1.  Mike received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins.

At Washington University in St. Louis, he rose to be a chaired professor while developing an international reputation in computational science and imaging. Mike  was recruited back to Johns Hopkins as professor of biomedical engineering in 1998, and has been a leader in the department and university ever since, where he has held the Herschel and Ruth Seder Chair in Biomedical Engineering.  
 
All Children's Celebrates 1st Pediatric Residency Class
Graduation Ceremony Held June 10

Congratulations to the members of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital's inaugural pediatric residency class, who celebrated their graduation on June 10. 
 
"I hope we can continue to attract exceptional people who want to change the world," said hospital president and vice dean Jonathan Ellen. "We need people who have that kind of aspiration."
