Behavioral Health Information-Sharing Documents Available

MeHI's Learning Collaborative program offers a forum for stakeholders to discuss topics that challenge the healthcare community, share their experiences, and develop innovative resources to help professionals address complex issues.

Our most recent Learning Collaborative focused on addressing the challenges around behavioral health information-sharing. MeHI worked with representatives from 18 healthcare organizations to develop tools to facilitate information-sharing in behavioral health settings. The tools are designed to help providers communicate the benefits of sharing patient information to both patients and other providers, and to consider clinical and legal considerations associated with behavioral health disclosures.
The resources generated through this Learning Collaborative include:
Members of the Learning Collaborative developed and  vetted the communication tools and, when they were ready, MeHI obtained legal counsel review. The tools are provided in an editable format to allow organizations to customize the documents with their name, logo, and contact information. MeHI advises against making substantive changes to the content, unless those changes are reviewed and approved by an organization's own legal representatives.

The tools are available for immediate use by your organization, please contact Lis Renczkowski for support or with any questions.

Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Updates
We Are Making Things Simpler!
Visit the MeHI website to access the most current Medicaid EHR Incentive Program information. The following materials for Eligible Professionals (EPs) have been updated and simplified:
NEW! Non-Hospital-Based Eligibility Letter
To assist EPs in proving non-hospital-based eligibility, a standardized verification letter was created to simplify the process. If you require the non-hospital-based verification letter, you will receive an email request with a link to this new document. Complete the letter per the instructions in the document.

Note: This standardized letter replaces the free-form letters previously requested.
PHI Restriction
To avoid unauthorized transfer of Patient Health Information (PHI), MeHI cannot accept documents that contain PHI or other sensitive data. Please remove all PHI from all of your supporting documentation.
We've Missed You!
EPs who have received at least one incentive payment can collect up to $42,500 in additional funds. Have you moved to a different organization? Do you face challenges in satisfying Meaningful Use? Are you unsure how many incentives you have received?

Please call the MeHI Technical Assistance Team to assist you through the next phase of Meaningful Use at 1-855-MassEHR.
First-Time Participant Deadline Has Passed
The deadline for EPs to initiate participation in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program was May 31, 2017. Going forward, only EPs who received at least one incentive payment can continue to participate in the program.
