Does leadership training matter?


In keeping with the conference theme of leadership and change, the highly anticipated plenary debate will tackle the question, 'Does leadership training matter?'
 
On the proposition side of the house, we'll hear from Dr. Jonas Nordquist, Associate Director of residency programs at the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. In opposition to the motion is Dr. Ian Incoll, President and Dean of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
 
This session will be chaired by Dr. Jonathan Sherbino, assistant dean, education research, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University and Dr. Simon Fleming, President, British Orthopaedic Trainees' Association. 
 
This year's debate will take place on Saturday, October 21 at 08:00.

ICRE's pre-conference programs give participants a unique opportunity to explore particular medical education (MedEd) topics through focused and in-depth half-day and full-day sessions.

This year's pre-conference lineup will take place October 17-19; leading up to ICRE's opening plenary on Thursday, October 19.

The practical workshops offered will cover a wide range of MedEd topic areas to appeal to educators' different areas of interest and/or practice, including:

Exercise with Educators

Back by popular demand, ICRE's Exercise with Educators program encourages conference participants to trade their business wear for active wear, and join colleagues for a yoga session, or a guided walk or run around scenic Quebec City. All fitness levels are welcome.
