CCB Quarterly Can & Bottle Drive
and Cub Scout Pack 23 Car Wash!!
Saturday, July 29th from 8:30 am until 12 Noon!

Help the Congregational Church of Burlington
Support Others by Supporting Us!

The weather has warmed up meaning cookouts, family picnics, sporting events and our favorite...The Fourth of July celebrations!  Why?  Because they create that huge, inconvenient amount of cans and bottles.  Know what that means????

It's time for our Quarterly Can & Bottle Drive joined by the Cub Scout Pack 23 Car Wash on July 29th!!  Barring a heavy rain we'll be collecting your returnables and cleaning cars from 8:30 am until 12 noon...well, the Scouts will start at 9:00 am!

We are trying another vendor for this drive and some things are a little different for our volunteers.

Here is what we ask you to bring and do to make this a smooth operation for all:

  • Only 5-cent returnables that are plastic, alumimum or glass
  • Please, please bag and seal these donations up safely & securely.
    • This means to please use caution when bagging glass, don't overload or put in flimsy bags that are unsealed, if at all possible.
  • For those that simply can't bag it the new way, we will still have volunteers to transfer to safer bags.

Every can and bottle adds up and those funds go so far as this is one of the few events where there are minimal expenses to offset your donation and more funds can be directed towards our missions in our community, our state, our country and our world!  Thank you!

We have supported:
  • Covenant to Care for Youth program via the Department of Children & Family Services
  • Local youth, charitable and/or educational organizations that make a difference in our community.  Most recently the Har-Bur 5th Grade Odyssey of the Mind trip to Ames, Iowa and the Make-A-Mark Region 10 Enrichment Fund.
  • The United Church of Christ and their larger missions nationally and worldwide
  • Monthly Soup Kitchen in Bristol
  • Youth Group and Christian Education programs
  • And support of many people in our community who are in times of need through our Good Samaritan Fund

To make this happen, we need to raise funds and WE NEED YOU!  We hope to see you at our events!

If you are looking for a place of great Fellowship and Support, we invite you to join us for 9 am Summer Sunday Service, Rev. Taylor is worth a listen!
