CAMPAIGN FOR THE NORTH CHAPEL 2017

The North Chapel strategic plan, "Our Future in Focus," laid out an exciting vision for our spiritual community, and for our contribution to the wider Woodstock community and world in which we live. Our broad goals include being profoundly welcoming to everyone; engaging and supporting families; enabling people to relate more deeply to themselves and to others; and responding to the climate crisis.

We've made good progress toward our goals in the two years since we created our strategic plan. Our new minister, Reverend Leon Dunkley, joins us in September, and we look forward to North Chapel's continued growth and service in our community.

To ensure that North Chapel's facilities support our continued efforts, the Board initiated an assessment and improvement plan for our building and grounds. Several members with related expertise worked over a year on the plan, which included consultation with a professional engineer and architect.

The report documents the need for critical repairs to preserve the historic structure, and basic improvements to lessen its environmental impact and improve its ability to support our members and engage our wider community.

The Campaign for North Chapel

Based on the estimates we received for work on North Chapel facilities, the Board of Trustees has launched a small capital campaign to raise $300,000.  We believe that this modest campaign will have a big impact not only on our facilities but our goals, as together we seek to strengthen and sustain North Chapel as a vibrant and welcoming spiritual, social, and civic resource in our community.

We're asking you to join us, and make a commitment to support the Campaign for North Chapel.

The good news is we're already off to a good start! Based on commitments from our board and an ad hoc committee of members tasked with raising the funds, we already have raised $206,300 for the project. We need just $93,700 to complete our $300,000 goal for the campaign for our North Chapel facilities.

We want to be clear that this special Campaign for the North Chapel will not replace our 2018 Canvass, which will begin in October. Work on next year's budget is underway, and will determine the goal for the 2018 Canvass. The Canvass represents the total pledge commitments we look for from our members to fund our annual operating budget and plans for 2018.
