Parent Fiesta Night is This Wednesday, 8/16
The Parent Fiesta is this Wednesday, August 16, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM in the UAC Commons.
Please plan to attend this
parents-only event to complete back to school business, meet and reconnect with other parents, and sample a variety of fresh salsas and guacamole. You'll receive your parent/student handbook, sign off on back to school forms, have a chance to purchase Aggie gear and more.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED
Volunteers are still needed tomorrow, 8/15, to prepare the salsas and on 8/16 at the event.

2017-18 K-6 Homerooms & 7-12 Schedules
As noted in the second summer mailing, K-6 homeroom assignments and 7-12 student schedules will be made available tomorrow, August 15. Elementary homerooms and junior high student schedules will be available by 9:00 AM; high school student schedules will be available by 5:00 PM. If you have questions or have difficulties accessing Educate, please contact an appropriate administrator starting Wednesday, August 16.

Clean-Up Morning on Sat., 8/19 - Volunteers Needed
With numerous projects underway this summer, there's some dust to attend to before the start of school! Consider stopping by this Saturday, August 19, to lend a hand on campus from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon. Parents and students in grades 7-12 who are accompanied by a parent are welcome. Please report to the UAC Commons area for direction. Bring a bucket, sponge and towels if possible. Thank you for the generosity of your time!

VIRTUS Training Session at Saint Agnes: 8/23
Saint Agnes will host VIRTUS training on Wednesday, August 23, at 6:00 PM in Schuler Hall (lower level of church). Any school volunteers who have regular or unsupervised interaction with minors must have attended one of these sessions.

K-12 Student Orientation is 8/24
On Thursday, August 24, we will host K-12 Student Orientation as an open house style event from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. This is a chance for all students and parents to find classrooms, meet teachers and complete back to school business.
There will be required orientations for ALL 7th graders from 3:00-5:00 PM and for NEW 9th graders from 4:00-6:00 PM on this day as well.

First Day of School is 8/28
The first day of school is Monday, August 28, and begins at 7:55 AM. K-6 students will report to classrooms and all 7-12 grade students will report to first period classes, followed by an opening convocation in the Auditorium. Kindergarten dismisses at 11:30 AM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the first week of school, with no lunch being served. Dismissal for remaining students is 2:45 PM. Parents are invited to join us for coffee and donuts to ring in the new school year immediately following drop-off on August 28.

Save the Date! K-6 Grandparents Day is Tuesday, 10/3
Grandparents and Special Friends Day for K-6 students will be held the morning of Tuesday, October 3. Parents, please note that we will be requesting addresses from you once school begins so that we can extend an invitation by mail to your child(ren)'s grandparent(s) or special senior friends. This has been a very successful event in years past, and so we do ask for RSVPs in order to plan accordingly.

Saint Agnes Children's Choir Registration Now Open
The mission of the Saint Agnes Parish Children's Choir is to sing sacred music that supports and enhances the Liturgy of the Mass. Singers must be between the ages of 9 (3rd grade) and 16 (sophomore), with unchanged voices and have a desire to praise God through sacred song. Although there is no formal audition, the singer must be able to match pitch. Rehearsals are scheduled for Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, with occasional exceptions. Registration Now Open for Complimentary Latin I Class
Registration is now open for a Latin I class to be offered this fall at the Church of Saint Agnes. The class will meet from 7:00 to 8:15 PM on Thursday evenings in the Bride's Room (lower level of church) beginning on Thursday, September 7. Fr. Moriarty and Deacon Nathan Allen will co-teach the 11-week class using
A Primer of Ecclesiastical Latin
by John F. Collins (ISBN-13: 978-0813206677). There is no fee, but each student is responsible for purchasing a copy of the book. If you are interested, please call the parish office to register at (651) 925-8800.
