To the Class of 2021:
On behalf of our learning community, we are excited to welcome you to Lake Forest High School. As you know, you will have an opportunity to learn from our amazing teachers and collaborate with very talented students in a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

The mission of our school is "to inspire the passion to learn, the insight to know oneself, and the courage to make a difference." We are looking forward to your positive contributions to the school community, as you help us further our mission. During your time at LFHS, you should expect to learn more about yourself, others, and the world, while also having daily opportunities share your talents and gifts.

We have planned an exciting day for you at Freshman Orientation on Tuesday,
August 22nd.
Freshman Orientation is your first official day and it is designed just for you. You will have an opportunity to learn all about the high school and figure out your course schedule with support and guidance. The schedule for Freshman Orientation is below. On August 17th, you will receive your Chromebook laptop during Textbook Pick-up. Along with your Chromebook, you will receive information regarding the use of your new device.

We are really excited to welcome you and we are here to help you. If you have questions or need help finding your way, please ask us. Our deans, counselors, social workers, teachers and staff are all great resources. If you ever need anything, my office is in the Main Office. All of our building administrators are also ready to help.

This is your high school and we look forward to supporting your growth and development. We will continuously encourage you to get involved and enjoy all of the wonderful opportunities we have to offer. Get ready to make your mark and welcome to the Lake Forest High School family!

WELCOME CLASS OF 2021!
 
Freshman Orientation, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, is the first official day of school for all Freshmen.
 
Freshman Orientation is a unique opportunity for the Class of 2021 to get to know their high school without the crowds. Here's a brief look at what you'll experience on that day.
  • Be sure to print your class schedule from PowerSchool and bring it with you. Dress comfortably!
     
  • Bus riders can take their regular morning route to school on this day. Bus schedules will be available at Text Book Pick-Up.
  • Allow time to store purses, backpacks, or other belongings in your locker before you report to the Lower Commons near the Competition Gym by 8:15 am. You'll break into large and small groups for a variety of activities with student mentors.
  • At 11:50 am, you'll begin to follow your individual class schedule beginning with Period 1. The plan for the day is to follow a shortened schedule with each period lasting only 7 minutes. There will be a 5 minute passing time between classes.   Period 8, the last period of the day, will end at 1:31 pm. Please see below for details on the class schedule.
  • Your day will be over at 1:31 p.m.  Buses will arrive in front of the school at
    1:45 pm. for students who have signed up for bus service.
  • The regular school year will begin for all students at 8:15 am and end at 3:20 pm on Wednesday, August 23rd. The first week of school is ALL Scout Days.
