Harbor Creamery

For Merri-Lee Steeves, the owner of Harbor Creamery, the idea of opening a local ice cream shop was one that began over 10 years ago. Finally in the winter of 2017, she decided to make her ice cream dreams a reality. Harbor Creamery is bringing delicious, homemade ice cream back to Newburyport.

Serving ever-changing flavors, Harbor Creamery will use fresh and local ingredients when possible, to bring their ice cream to the next level. Serving classic favorites and surprises you've never tried, HC has something for everyone. So, stop in, say hello and do some taste testing at Harbor Creamery where dessert is always served first and love is sprinkled on every bite.

A Message From The
Chamber President -
Ann Ormond

Hello y'all!
Well,  that is not how we usually greet each other in New England but it is the way that we were greeted at our Chamber Trade Association Annual Meeting in Nashville this past month.

Terry Thompson, our VP of Operations and I were lucky enough to attend the annual gathering of more than 1,000 chamber leaders from across the Country, Canada and Europe. We spent four days learning new ideas about the business of chambers and serving our communities and you our customers....yes, that's correct, customers!

There were many great "takeaways"- but here are a few to insight some thought for you...

Business is a force for good!
Music is integral! You'll hear more on that later!
What does a sustainable Chamber with its customers look like in 2030?
Ask your communities - "What do we need to be working on?"
What does a Panda have to do with a Chamber? Check Out This Video!

Finally...keep on the lookout for the announcement of the "Big 5" initiative.

How Can We Support "The Arts"?

By Paula Etsy of Paula Etsy Gallery

Every year I begin my Christmas shopping around December 12th. It's after my birthday and I feel I deserve my own attention around that day. Throughout the years, and as my son grew and toys were no longer on the wish lists, I turned to doing my shopping locally.

Now we're lucky to live in a downtown that accommodates so many choices, especially for someone interested in giving (buying/supporting) objects of art, which I do and I am. This year's choice for us was  Valerie's Gallery  on State Street in Newburyport. There I found handmade pieces at prices in my range that were beautiful unique pieces of art. It was a pleasure.

There are many other scenarios however, that exemplify ways of supporting-on purpose-the economy of art that exists in your towns and communities, wherever on this beautiful earth that may be.

Supporting the Arts is a personal choice, like deciding that WGBH is something you like, and use, and therefore want to support.
