Children's Room Newsletter
AUGUST 2017
Upcoming Events in the Children's Room

Welcome to the new Children's Room Newsletter.
The books are FLYING off the shelves this summer!
The Summer Reading Program is in its last weeks with almost 500 readers signed up to do the reading challenges. Please check the online calendar for all activities and to sign up for performances.  AND, at this time, we have read over ONE TON of books!!! Will we make TWO TONS OR MORE?

All across Massachusetts, the theme is "Build a Better World!" and in the Reuben Hoar Library Children's Room, we will read about the many ways to do this. We think you build a better world with: kindness, science, inventions, empathy, reading, new ideas......and the list goes on.......

Do you remember that we read TWO TONS of books last summer? That was 4,000 lbs. of books! This summer's challenge will be to read 5,000 lbs. of books! As you take them out, you can weigh them.
That's a lot of reading, but we know our readers are always ready for a challenge!

The last day of Summer Reading is August 19th.
Please bring in your logs to collect
 prizes before 4:00 that day.

Winner of the big raffle prizes will be notified on Monday, August 21st.
You can register for activities using the Events Calendar on RHL website: www.littletonlibrary.org
