We're putting the final touches on a full weekend of Back Roads Century events. Register now, and don't miss out!

The Back Roads Century returns Sunday, September 17, 2017 to scenic Shepherdstown, West Virginia! But we've got big plans for Saturday, too!

Working with our friends at the Panhandle Pedalers, we'll offer Saturday rides - a shorter ride around 20 miles and a longer one around 35 miles. Both will be in Maryland and feature quiet country roads, historic sites and the opportunity to tour the historic Antietam Battlefield. Plan to come out and loosen up your legs before Sunday.

This isn't just a bike ride - it's a weekend event!

To help get you psyched for Sunday, we'll have a Saturday night party at the Town Run Tap House and Community Pub in Shepherdstown, featuring live music and a BBQ dinner. No cover charge for music, but there will be a charge for dinner. Reservations for dinner will be required  so stay tuned for on-line registration details. If you want to eat at one of Shepherdstown's other great restaurants, come by after dinner to enjoy the some pre-ride camaraderie and music.
Sunday Fun!
Beautiful routes and a whole lot more...

We have not forgotten the details for Sunday!  Before the ride, we will have coffee and pastries from Lost Dog Coffee for sale at the ride start, as well as water and mechanical support. After the ride, in addition to the traditional party with food, music, and ice's, we have free showers courtesy of Shepherd University. During the ride, of course, we will have plenty of SAG and on-road support, fully stocked rest stops, and miles of beautiful roads.
And we've kept the best of the Back Roads Century from past years!
  • Same entry fee including a Potomac Pedalers' member discount
  • 5 Routes including Century, Metric Century, Half Century, and two shorter routes of 47 and 27 miles.
  • Great rest stops with music and expanded food options, including our famous Tomato/Hummus Sandwiches and Boiled Potatoes.
  • After-event party featuring music and food
  • Beautiful views of rivers, valleys, hills, and apple orchards
  • Saturday ride options and events
  • Free Parking adjacent to Ride Start and After-Event Party

Volunteers Needed!
  • We still need volunteers for Sunday, especially to manage the rest stops. Volunteers get FREE registration and will have enough time to ride one of the shorter routes. Email Eric Pilsk with "Volunteer BRC" in the subject line if interested.
