Volunteer Spotlight:
Mark Lasswell
Memorial Garden Maestro

Let's hear a round of applause for Mark Lasswell!

Mark has been instrumental in creating the memorial garden in the front of our building. It  will commemorate Old Mill co- founder Bev Larson, her mother Skinny, and long-time volunteer and supporter Alan Sugawara.  Mark is son of Board Member Sid Lasswell, who has been spearheading this project over the last several months.

Mark has been involved in every step, from overseeing the excavation of the land to pouring the concrete, assembling the benches, and selecting and planting the flowers with Sid. But his work's not over yet!  As a finishing touch, two commemorative plaques will be installed this summer for  the garden's dedication ceremony at our  40th Birthday Party on Saturday, October 7th.

Thank you, Mark, for all of your hard work!
Old Mill Center kicks off our
Collaborative Campaign for Kids' Mental Health
with the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis!

For the past two years, Old Mill Center's therapeutic staff have worked on-site at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis to provide mental and behavioral health services to local kids.

The effect has been tremendous.
28% reduction in written warnings, 75% decrease in expulsions from the Club's afterschool program, and increased access to parenting education and support groups to sustain long-term behavior management.

Funding for this program has ended. Without financial support, it will be terminated.

Inspired by the effectiveness of this transformative service, Old Mill Center and the Boys & Girls Club are uniting to raise new funding for the program. The  Collaborative Campaign for Kids' Mental Health is kicking off this month!

If you would like to help sustain this effective collaboration between Old Mill Center and the Boys & Girls Club, donate here.
