NALS 66th Annual Education and Networking Conference
Have you reserved your hotel? Do not forget to register. . .

NALS has noticed many potential registrants have claimed their hotel reservation at   Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel , our hosting hotel. You are part of the fortunate members who are able to do so because our block is now  over 75% full!

If you are not planning to attend the conference, please remove your name from our reservations list by August 15, 2017, to make way for those who would like to attend. 



NALS introduces two new networking events for you!
 
NALS introduces two new events for the NALS Annual Conference. One will be a Scavenger Hunt through the local Waterside District across the street from the conference center/hotel. This allows any registrant the ability to participant in an event for a small fee. The other event is the Escape Room Event. NALS has organized a fun, live game that will challenge you and your team to escape the room using creative problem solving to get free!

The oldest living retired NALS legal secretary, Peggy Bennett, soon to be 98, is still physically and mentally active and busy traveling to receive more and bigger awards.  There was an article in April 2013 in the NALS docket when Peggy was only 95 
 

The vocation we call "paralegal" made its debut about 45 years ago. And, back then, the legal industry employed women primarily as legal secretaries; the early paralegals were, in fact, highly and specially trained legal secretaries. It is understandable, then, that the term "paralegal" has been connected primarily with professional women rather than men.

The best way to improve your proofreading skills is practice. But there are other resources available to help you learn or refresh your knowledge of grammar to improve your proofreading.
 

I want so much to be the consummate professional and want to look professional too.  I do not know where to start or what will work as a daytime wardrobe.  I am new to the workforce and only have a few pairs of dark slacks and kind of floaty tops that seem to look more casual than my coworkers' dressy outfits. I need some advice.
