ORIENTATION & OPEN HOUSE
New Parent Orientation will be held Friday, August 18, at 9:00am. This is a great opportunity for families new to Discovery to get acquainted with our Administrative Staff, our campus, and learn all of the important information on being part of the Discovery community during this interactive session. Please check in at building 4 and we will escort you to the correct classroom for your program level presentation.
Open House will be held on Friday, August 18. New and returning families are welcome to the Discovery campus to meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and drop off any supplies.
Toddler: Toddler Orientation and Open House will immediately follow the New Parent Orientation, which should end at 9:30am.
Primary:
Lower & Upper Elementary: Open House for the Elementary programs is 10:00am - 12:00pm, you may attend at anytime within those hours.

UNIFORMS & PE SHIRTS
School Uniforms
Discovery students enrolled in the Primary program (ages 3-6), the Lower Elementary program (ages 6-9), or the Upper Elementary program (ages 9-12) are required to wear uniforms. Uniform items displaying The Discovery School logo must be purchased from our approved uniform vendor,
Lands' End,
using school number 900064593
. Once the school ID is entered, all approved items will be displayed.
Clothing items such as shorts, pants, and skirts may be purchased from any vendor as long as they follow the uniform dress code.

School colors for polo shirts are Light Blue, White, Maize, and Gray Heather.

School colors for pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, etc. are khaki, gray, and navy.
PE Uniform Shirts
PE shirts for Kindergarten and Elementary students are Dri-Fit Polo shirts available in White and Dark Gray. We have ordered a bulk supply to have on hand for purchase at the Open House. You may also order more if needed at that time. These can also be worn as uniform polo's on non-PE days.

COMMUNICATIONS
Discovery strives to keep parents well informed on all school news, events, and activities. In order to accomplish this, we utilize several forms of communication:
Discovery Update
The Discovery Update is delivered to parents via email every Monday. This is an essential resource for upcoming events, classroom news, campus news, and other pertinent information.
Social Media
Social Media is a great way to stay connected to Discovery!
Facebook
We have a public page and a private Discovery Community
page where we post photos, videos, upcoming events, and news. The community page is also a great way to connect with other families for play dates, questions, etc.
Pinterest
Pinterest is a great resource for families when exploring Montessori and the International Baccalaureate program. We have multiple boards dedicated to Montessori, IB, STEaM education, Book suggestions, and activities.
Instagram
Instagram is where we will share material photos, classroom photos, and much more!

AFTER SCHOOL ADVENTURES
Discovery's After School Adventures Program provides students with an opportunity to attend a variety of after school enrichment programs for all ages. Registration is now open for the 2017-2018 school year!
