Another First Class Sterlingfest! July 27 - 29
Our partnership with the City has once again helped to bring a first-rate festival to our community, and with each passing year, it seems to get even better!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU
to our many, many volunteers, including Chamber members, families, friends and staff -- we couldn't do it without you. We had more than 100 volunteers putting in more than 400 hours of service time, with many additional hours from our staff. A festival of this size takes a lot of time and effort from the City and the Chamber, and our staff works on this event virtually all year long. They're very capable and handle the many details associated with the Suds 'n Sounds tent, Patio Bar, Stage Bar and Wine sales at the Jazz Station. Their professionalism makes it appear a lot easier than it really is.
A special thanks to the Burgs, Burg's Enterprises, Inc., and Gary Tedesco, Tedesco Building Services, Inc. for donating the services of their companies to help keep the tent neat and clean. Burg's was on the job Thursday evening and Tedesco took on this service both Friday and Saturday evenings.
VOLUNTEERS
are the lifeblood of this Chamber, and we're deeply thankful for all they do, at so many levels, day-in/day-out, week-in/week-out... and your service at Sterlingfest was greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS, STAFF AND THE CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS FOR MAKING STERLINGFEST POSSIBLE!
--Melanie Davis, Chamber President and Linda Colton, Events Manager
A special thanks to our Sterlingfest Sponsors:
DTE Energy Foundation;
First State Bank; Buca di Beppo; Cricket Wireless; Legal Strategies, PC; Linden Construction; Metro Wire and Cable Corp.; Regency at Shelby Township; The Rainbow Connection; and Vibe Credit Union.

M-59 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE FROM MDOT:
We now have all traffic on the outside lanes on both EB and WB M-59 and Hayes closed to through traffic. This closure will be done by the middle of next week. Now that we are working in the median on both bounds, we have a number of crossovers closed. Please encourage your employees and customers to take their time when driving through the work zone and to pay attention to the signs. Our number one goal is to make sure that every person makes it home every night.
You may have also noticed a number of large black poles going up throughout the project (see
PHOTO 1 .
PHOTO 2). These are the poles on which our mast arms will be mounted. When completed, the entire corridor will have decorative mast arms on which the signals will hang (rather than the wire that they typically hang from). This will really reinforce the importance of this corridor to the public. This is possible thanks in large part to your local elected officials as the local communities paid for the upgrades to the signals on the corridor. In talking with them in the planning stages, they were excited to be able to do this in large part because of the great businesses that make M-59 one of Michigan's premier business corridors. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we help deliver this unique project.
Please check our website and social media pages for updates!
