From the Program Director

Sarah Chandonnet

Lillian Medville, a Hub community member, created  Your Privilege is Showing, a facilitated social justice card game focusing on sexism, racism, and privilege . The fundamental philosophy of YPIS is that systems of oppression (sexism, racism, privilege, ableism, classism, among others) are both deeply personal and universal. We have all, no matter who we are, internalized and participated in these systems, and are hurt by them in some way. But we don't talk about them. And if we can't talk about them we can't even begin to understand our part in them. This interactive card game opens participants up to reflection and conversation.

Lillian has brought YPIS to MIT Media Lab, Harvard School of Ed, Berklee College of Music, SXSWedu in March 2017, and is currently working on a documentary film about the Berklee College Pilot program that took place fall 2016.

Join us on Sunday for a special event at the Hub, where you'll learn more about Lillian and get to play the game. 1:30-3:30pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.
