Just a beginning
Tori Couick Smith married Josiah Moran in June
Nothing reminds us that K-12 education is a preparation for the rest of life than the life events themselves. The past month's interactions with college administrators and various students and families continue to affirm this thought.

In June, two students of the Class of 2016 were married. Morgan Whittle married first, followed by Tori Couick Smith, whose ceremony was officiated by Mr. Allan Wiley (LPA instructor). Tori is the daughter of LPA instructor Wynelle Smith and the sister of girls' basketball coach Hope Robinson.  

Last summer, Emily Mayhall (Class of 2016) and Madilyn Gross (Class of 2013) each married. Recently, Madilyn gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Much of life to celebrate!  -- L. Lemmon

Summer Training Begins! 
The last week in June marked the beginning of summer training sessions--which will continue up until the start of school. Four key sessions were held: IEW training for new parents and students grades 3rd-7th, IEW training for new parents and students grades 8th and 9th, a Singapore Math training, and a seminar on the Spell to Write to Read curriculum. Along with new parents and teachers, instructors from nearby schools and home-school parents attended in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Annual Book Sale
Last Thursday brought LPA's annual book sale to an end. Families had the opportunity to sell curriculum they no longer needed and buy used curriculum at a discount price. Throughout the sale, there were also opportunities to donate books for class sets and to rent and buy science curriculum for the 5th-7th grade science class.
For those who sold books at the sale, please plan to pick up your books that didn't sell by July 13 during summer school hours.

New Secondary Student Life Fellowship
LPA Class of 2034?   

The Miller household was overflowing Thursday night with new 7th - 12th grade students and their parents as they enjoyed wonderful home-cooked food, games, and fellowship time. In the family fun time, even the youngest Miller child was up to enjoy quality time with new and old friends!

The next new secondary student event will be Mexican Lunch and Bowling on Tuesday, July 11 from 12:30-3 p.m. RSVP & questions: [email protected].

Elementary Student Life Event 
Lake Pointe will be hosting a Fun in Foam slip 'n slide extravaganza and potluck dinner for elementary students and parents Thursday, July 20 from 5:30-8pm at the LPA campus. For more details, see our Activity Details page.
