SportFest 2017
SportFest 2017 (a FREE interactive sport and recreation event) will be held Saturday August 19th at the Servus Sports Centre. Vendor/exhibitor registration is now open. 
SportFest also is calling for help from volunteers!
Lethbridge 2017: Get Active Through Sport

ATB Centre Construction Heating Up
As summer construction continues, things are really heating up at ATB Centre - Phase 2. With the majority of the concrete work completed, spaces are now being defined with framing and the installation of windows.
Recognizing Female Athletes in the Community
The Champions Fund was created by Dairy Farmers of Canada to empower the female athletic community, to provide a resource that can help change the game for Canada's young girls and women athletes.

In 2017, the Champions Fund will award $5,000 grants to 30 deserving female athletes, teams, or organizations, providing the financial support needed to pursue their athletic goals.

New Program Opportunity
The Coaching Association of Canada and Alberta Sport Connection have joined forces to offer Alberta based sport organizations an opportunity to be part of a movement to shape the future of sport in the province of Alberta. This project is supported by Status of Women Canada. The program will aim to increase gender equity and leadership diversity in sport organizations in Alberta.

New Volunteer Screening Policy Book 
This workbook provides general information on volunteer screening, as well as offers a starting point for your organization to develop effective policies, identify challenges, and mitigate potential issues related to volunteer screening. The workbook also provides useful appendices and resources for further information. 
Applications Open for the Parasport Jumpstart Fund
Community organizations and sport organizations are invited to apply for the 2017 Parasport Jumpstart Fund, which provides introductory and development Para sport programs designed at getting children and youth with a disability active and involved in sports.
New SCiP Season Begins
The Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) brings Alberta's nonprofit organizations and post-secondary students together to make a difference in their communities.  Nonprofit organizations gain added talent and human capacity so that they can better achieve their missions.

Junior Little League Canadian Championship Coming Soon
Lethbridge is excited to welcome the Junior Little League Canadian Championship once again to our city! The tournament will begin on Thursday, August 3rd with Team Alberta playing their first game at 3:30PM at Spitz Stadium.

SPIN Summit Early Bird Deadline Approaching
The SPort INnovation (SPIN) Summit is Canada's leading edge symposium for professional development and networking in the areas of applied sport science, sports medicine, and innovation. This annual conference combines experts from around the globe to build knowledge and tools, for future Olympic and Paralympic sport success through technological and scientific research. The 12th annual SPIN Summit will be held 4-6 October 2017 in Richmond, British Columbia.
