President's Corner
Dear Kiwanis Club of Omaha,
Thank you to everyone who brought guests to the Lauritzen Gardens tour on Friday. One of the many benefits of being a Kiwanis member is the unique opportunity for intimate events like this and quality speaker presentations on a weekly basis (Rachel Halmaier discussing the riverfront development last week comes to mind). We are always looking for new speaker ideas or off-site opportunities our members would enjoy. If you have any suggestions, please let John Wehrle or Katie Dittman know. On another note, John has done an excellent job these last two years as program director, but as he transitions to President-Elect, we will need someone else to step into that role. Please consider this opportunity for yourself or nominate someone else from the club so we can continue to provide great programs for our members.
Kiwanis Challenge Course Announcement - We have some exciting news for the Kiwanis Club of Omaha! After much deliberation and research, the Board of Directors has approved a partnership with the City of Omaha and Cunningham Recreation/Play4All to build a Challenge Course in Elmwood Park. The Challenge Course is based on the popular TV show "American Ninja Warrior" and it features several levels of difficulty for all ages. Users can also time themselves and compete with one another using their smart phones and special ID tags located on the equipment. The Kiwanis Club of Omaha has secured full naming rights for the Challenge Course. For additional details, please call or email me or Katie Dittman.
Have a great week!
President, Kiwanis Club of Omaha
