High Holy Days at Rodeph Sholom Are So Sweet!
As the end of summer nears, we are pleased to share our full High Holy Day schedule of services. Click here.
Members in good standing will receive their High Holy Day tickets in the mail the week of August 21st. All other information, including guest tickets and reciprocity, can be found at
rodephsholom.org/hhd.
We are also pleased to announce that we'll be offering a NEW worship opportunity this year.
Rabbi Camille Shira Angel, our Associate Rabbi from 1995-2000, will return to Rodeph Sholom to lead an introspective service that offers some of the hallmarks of High Holy Day liturgy and music, but will also offer space for guidance and meditation, reflection, and deep personal prayer.
This service will take place at St. Matthew's and St. Timothy's Church (26 West 84th Street, right next door) on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur at 11:30am and will require a separate e-ticket.
Tickets will be emailed (for printing at home) on Thursday, August 31st to those who RSVP.

Many congregants are surprised to learn that their membership dues do not cover the full cost of the synagogue's operations (last year it was 54%).
It is only through your generosity and support of the Yom Kippur Appeal (YKA) that we are able to maintain well-loved programs, explore exciting new projects, and meet previously unanticipated needs within the congregation. From providing dues assistance, to making unexpected repairs to our building, to supporting our remarkable clergy, your participation makes a tangible impact.
There is no need to wait until Yom Kippur to make your contribution to the appeal! Your pledge card is the bottom section of your High Holy Days ticket, which you'll be receiving soon. Simply detach and mail your pledge card to the synagogue in the envelope provided or

The Roll of Remembrance Book, given to worshippers at the Memorial Service on Yom Kippur, constitutes an acknowledgement of our ongoing love for those who have passed away.
To list names in the 2017 book, please respond by
August 14th
, even if you do not have any changes from the 2016 book.

Denise Sobel and Jake Weiss, holding a sign made by Gina Levine, helped lead the way with the Congregation Rodeph Sholom delegation at the HIAS Jewish Rally for Refugees this past February in Battery Park. Denise, Jake, and the rest of us stood in chilly soaking rain for hours cheering for justice for our most vulnerable world citizens.
