This Sunday you will notice our "new look" in the front lobby and the narthex. Everything has been painted, the blue carpet removed, new furniture for "welcoming and fellowship" is in the process of being placed. We're not just on a re-decorating spree to keep up with current trends. Our "make-over for mission" is part of a year-long focus on radical hospitality to which I hope all of us will take on.
Our official celebration and full "reveal" will be on
Sunday, August 20, which is also the 11th anniversary of the consecration of the church. During the 10:00 Mass on 8/20 we will bless the newly redesigned space and give thanks for all those who made this endeavor possible through the generous gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
The make-over for mission is a part of the Vestry's leadership and parish growth initiative which follows our mission statement: "To be a holy place where love is found, where all are named, and where hearts are freed to change the world." Our ministry of hospitality and especially welcoming those seeking a church home is one focused on "where all are named." For it is in our morning hospitality, our gatherings for fellowship, study, and prayer, our celebrations, and all the ministries that take place in the narthex where we all are welcomed, named, and led more deeply into the love and hope of Almighty God.
Peace and Blessing,
Father Tripp+
For those who would like to help off-set the cost of the make-over, you can make a donation ear-marked "Narthex Make-Over" and place it in the collection plate this Sunday or mail it to the parish office.
