Row by Row On The Go!
is 2017's theme and we'll be participating here at Mary's. We're also super excited about the Row by Row Experience's brand new program: Row by Row Junior! Designed for kids ages 6 to 14.
The Junior participants travel along with an adult, and they collect free row patterns designed just for them to make.  They can also learn to sew at home with a little help from family and the added support provided by  www.rowbyrowexperience.com .
Row by Row Junior follows the same rules and time schedule as the adult Row by Row Experience, taking place from June 21 through Labor Day.   Kids are required to be in the shop to get their free pattern, but anyone can buy a kit. For those grandmothers and family members who travel, this kit can be the perfect gift or souvenir to take home to a child you love!
Row by Row Junior designed all five different row patterns, so you can be sure they are kid-friendly. Make it an adventure! Travel to collect all five patterns, and see how different shops made their row unique.
We have chosen Rover as our row.
Here he is sewn into a pillow.
We'll be awarding "I Made This!" ribbons to the first five kids who return with something made using a Row by Row Junior pattern.   Any sewing effort will be celebrated, not just quilting.   Find Row by Row Junior's free online activities, kids' journal pages, support for learning to sew at home, and more at www.rowbyrowexperience.com this summer.
Mary's Retreat Center
Looking for a great getaway? This is the place. Our retreat offers a large eat in kitchen, living room, 6 bedrooms, 4 and half bathrooms, sewing room and laundry room. All this in a newly restored 1813 Federal style building located in historic Bedford, PA.
We can accommodate 16 people. You will find all the comforts of home in the retreat. It is beautifully decorated and each bed is dressed with an antique quilt.
The kitchen is fully functional with pots, pans, dishes and silverware, everything you need to prepare and serve a meal. The bathrooms are complete with soap, shampoo, hairdryer and other toiletries.
The large sewing room is complete with sewing tables, cutting table, irons and ironing boards. It also has great natural light. Mary's Quilt shop is located in the same building and is complete with all your sewing needs.
The retreat is located in charming downtown Bedford. There are many great restaurants and shops for your enjoyment. Bring your family and friends for a pleasant getaway of sewing, eating and enjoying historic Bedford. We can design a class for you or come and sew on your own.

Ryan's Case for Smiles  is dedicated to helping children with life-changing illnesses feel better to heal better.
We are a charitable organization that makes pillowcases for children with life threating illnesses.

Your participation in this outreach is encouraged. We have local groups that gather and sew. If you don't sew we need cutters and other helpers. You can also make the pillow cases on your own and drop them off at the shop.

Knitted Knockers
are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can't be worn for weeks after surgery.
Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast.
Our special volunteer knitters provide these free to those requesting them.
Join in to help connect volunteer knitters with breast cancer survivors to offer free Knitted Knockers to any woman who wants them.

There is a huge demand for Knitted Knockers that can't be met by any one group but together we can do it! If someone in each area will set a goal of meeting the need in just their county it can happen!
