We partner with the Cornelius Police Department for an annual celebration promoting community safety and crime prevention. This free, family event includes children's activities, food and more!
This year will also feature an extra hour at the LKN Kiwanis Splashville Park and a viewing of Moana on our blimp screen.

Home Grown: Sprouts will be on display through August 26 in our gallery. This mixed-media exhibition features works created during our Summer Arts & Recreation Camps. Join us for the closing reception on Wednesday, August 23, 6:00-8:00 pm, and meet the "sprouts" (ages 4-16), enjoy arts & crafts, and more!

Did you know our Youth Flag Football program is the largest in the Carolina Panthers' region? It is! Registration for the 2017 Cornelius-Huntersville season is open now through August 13. This program provides a non-contact football opportunity for boys and girls ages 4-14. Games will be played in September and October at Smithville Park or James Hoyt Wilhelm Park.
We partner with Huntersville in offering Youth Volleyball to girls, ages 9-18. Register now through August 11 for the fall 2017 season.

NORTHERN REGIONAL RECREATION CENTER
PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION
|
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and the towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville will hold a public information session regarding the proposed Northern Regional Recreation Center on Monday, August 14, 2017. The session will take place at Bailey Middle School from 6:00-7:00 pm.
The meeting will serve as an opportunity for residents to learn what a regional recreation center is and what amenities could be included, and see examples of other regional recreation centers from across the country. County and town leaders will also discuss the design process and how residents can get involved.

Cornelius Youth Orchestras
is accepting new members for the 2017-2018 season. Youth with at least one year of playing experience are invited, along with their parents, to attend an Open House on Tuesday
August 8
or August 15
. New member rehearsal and orientation will be held on August 22 and the first full rehearsal will be held on August 29.
