Amber Pero grew up in Alexandria, Virginia until she started high school, when her family moved to Stafford, Virginia. She graduated from Heritage High School in Leesburg.

Amber earned an Agribusiness Career Studies Certificate from Southside Virginia Community College, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average throughout the program.  She is now an Associate Operations Administrator for Tyson Foods, Inc. and plans to advance her career by furthering her studies in Agribusiness.

A stay-at-home mother when she attended SVCC, Amber wants other students to know, "No matter your situation or age, it's never too late to start. Going back to school was the best decision I've made. Never say never, and keep an open mind."
