"The Ribbles Builda Residence"
Insect couple, Mr. & Mrs. Ribble, are expecting baby Ribbet, and they need a new home. Mrs. Ribble would like it to be environmentally and neighborhood friendly. Come assist the ant and bird contractors from Brooklyn
in making a ground plan. Lots of silly, educational fun! No registration needed for this free program.

Building Readers Story/Craft Time
Fridays, 11am-12 noon
July 7th - Aug.11th
For children ages 4 - 6
"Building" will be the theme of the day with stories, songs, games, crafts, and other related activities to help build life-long readers!
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This free program is part of our Summer Reading Program and no registration is required.

Tech Tuesdays Drop-ins
Tuesdays, July 11 - Aug. 15th
3:30 - 5pm
Children in grades K-5 are welcome to drop in to try out our cool STEM materials.
Tinker with ozobots, littleBits, Snap Circuits, robots, Legos, Magforms, Chibitronics LEDs, etc. Tables will be set up so that small groups can try their hand at these materials. Some instruction available. Parents and older siblings are welcome to join the fun!
No registration necessary.

Build a Better Bridge
Wednesday, August 2nd, 2-3pm
Learn about Hudson Valley bridges and their benefits, build your own bridge, and explore bridges on iPads with a representative from Historic Bridges of the Hudson Valley.
What do you think will build the best bridge?
We will supply some materials but feel free to bring your own:
straws, toilet paper rolls, cardboard, string, popsicle sticks, etc.

Coloring Books for Adults
Tuesday, July 25th, 6-7:30pm
Looking for something cool to do on a hot summer night? Chill out with adult coloring! Come to unwind, while expressing your creativity! Adult coloring books offer a variety of designs, often intricate, just waiting to get lost in. Both colored pencils and fine tipped markers will be available, along with a wide variety of coloring books to choose pages from.
No registration is needed and all supplies are provided for this free program.

Lighthouses:
Cape Cod & Rhode Island
Wednesday, July 26, 2-3pm
Join author, photographer and lecturer, Kevin Woyce, as he explains the history of lighthouses, featuring the lighthouses of Cape Cod and southern Rhode Island, including Newport and Block Island.
Mr. Woyce mixes fascinating facts with a thoroughly entertaining presentation. The program is illustrated with original photographs, plus vintage postcard images.
Free admission, no registration needed.

International Film Night

Friday is International Film Night! This month's feature is from Brazil. The bleak isolation of the expansive desert of Northern Brazil is the setting for this moving drama. Rated R. 115 minutes.
Event is free and no registration required. All films shown in their original language with English subtitles (including films in English.) Doors open at 6:30 and film starts promptly at 7:00pm.

Women's Suffragist Song
Tuesday, August 1st, 6-7:30pm
Join Pat Lamanna, Sharleen Leahy, and Lydia Adams Davis as they present "Songs to Celebrate the Centennial of Women's Suffrage in New York State." Through song, the trio will trace the Women's Suffrage movement through its beginnings in the Abolitionist movement; explore its connections to the Temperance movement; and bring us up-to-date to the modern Feminist movement. Event will begin with history, followed by an hour of song!
The musicians are folksingers, songwriters and social activists.
This fun and educational program is free and no registration is required.

Songs of the 70s
Saturday, August 5th, 1-2pm
Join singer-pianist and entertainer, Mitch Kahn, as he performs "Songs of the 70s." From the iconic to the eclectic, the 1970s produced a memorable collection of songs, many highly regarded and widely requested to this day.
Show includes music written or performed by legendary songwriters such as
Billy Joel, Elton John, Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka and more.
