Spring in Butchart Gardens

It's hard to believe  that half the year is already over!  It has been so much fun working in the salon for almost a whole year now!  Wow does time fly!  Getting to know all of the clients, work along side my grandfather, and watch as he creates such beautiful work has been such a blast.  Blessed is an understatement!

Sarah ... There is no doubt that COLOR is a big part of today's fashion, and Sarah is enjoying capturing that feeling in a sophisticated classy manner.  Here she is with Cupid Pink ... and presently her highlights are Aqua Marine.

She is still deciding what color she'll try next! 
Reef ... certainly has her own style, and is always pushing against the boundaries.  Being different is her entire persona.  Her latest is an extreme asymmetrical & undercut bob, with chunky highlights.  Her Grand-Mother ("Mom") and long-time client Christina is so marvelous allowing her to experiment, while still maintaining reasonable guidelines.  (Reef doesn't always agree)
Nadia ... It is world traveling DanceSport (Competitive ballroom dance) Judge & Coach.  She is known around the world especially in the category of Latin dance.  She needed a new professional portrait for use in flyers, programs and media, so we planned a photo session to capture her latest look.
 
Danelle ... competes professionally in Latin dance competitions.  We're working on developing a signature style for her that will stand out on the dance floor during competitions.  One which judges will be drawn towards.  She's a stunning young dancer and was sent to me by Nadia, her coach.  I'm excited to see where we end up together.
Shelley ... Is an extremely successful Realtor and I have been pleased to step in for her long-time hairdresser who is battling health challenges.

We certainly hope he regains his health ... but in the interim, I'm enjoying spending this special time with her.
Betsy ... has a very special place in our family history!  Her husband, Jack (retired federal judge), presided over the weddings of both our daughter, Debbie, and son, David (Sarah's father)  Talk about an amazing chain of events with Sarah now inline to become her hairdresser when the time is right.
Lori & Susan ... sisters who are part of a truly wonderful story. Over 25 years ago, as a high school student, Lori modeled for me.  Her pictures appeared on the walls of our salon in Mission Viejo.  Our lives have now re-connected, and I've had the honor of having her and her sister Susan (who originally sent her to me!!!) visit me in the salon for fresh styles.

Hello Everyone!
On our days off my grandfather and I come into the salon and I get to work on my own clients/models with him guiding me when I have questions. That is when I really learn what goes into creating a custom haircut. I slowly but surely am growing my own clientele and it is so much fun!  

Here are just a few pictures of the models/clients that I have done recently:
Tracey ... I have been having so much fun using Tracey's willingness to let me do whatever my creativity comes up with. The first picture is the most recent, we have been evolving her a-symmetrical graduated bob and added pink and purple to her fiery red hair from our previous session. 

Amy ... A coworker of my moms came from San Diego for me to give her an updated long hair style.    

Jordan ... His first "GQ" style haircut. It has been fun working more and more with scissor over comb cutting and creating custom mens cuts. 
 
Kristen ... A returning model who let me cut off about 6 inches of her hair, cant wait to see how her look will evolve over time!
  
Emma ... Quite an adventurous young client! Each time Emma comes in she wants more and more of an edgy look. My first time working an undercut into a haircut!     
  
Thank you all for sticking with me through this wonderful journey that I am on. I hope to continue to move forward as my grandfather works closer to his retirement. I love what I am doing and being able to share it with all of you!
