A Busy Summer for ABC Carolinas
By: Brian O'Gallagher, O'Neal, 2017 ABC Chairman

Things are heating up for the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas. Our summer events are in full swing, and our staff is busy preparing for our Carolinas Construction Conference in Charleston, SC.

Carolinas Members Make the Trip to DC

Members from the ABC of the Carolinas Chapter were well represented in Washington DC for ABC's Annual LegCon. Over 40 members of the ABC of the Carolinas made the trip to the nation's capital to meet with our elected officials.

ABC organized a bus from Raleigh to take members to the Conference. Vice President Mike Pence was the featured keynote speaker. Events included receptions with members of the House and Senate. Our members were able to visit with our North Carolina and South Carolina representatives in their offices to discuss issues and topics that are important to the construction industry. We also hosted North Carolina Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis for a breakfast briefing.

Our organization is your voice in Washington DC, Raleigh and Columbia. If you are not actively engaged in ABC's legislative efforts, I encourage you to join our Government Affairs Committee, get a PAC Badge, and support the FEA.

New Training Facility

ABC staff and members have started the process of moving into the ABC training facility in Raleigh, NC. The new facility promises to be a great resource for our members. Details about the new facility and classes will be available soon.

Carolinas Construction Conference Just Weeks Away

There are just a few weeks until ABC's Carolina Construction Conference in Charleston, SC. Once again, we have a tremendous program with exciting speakers and panel discussions. We will be addressing economic, legislative, workforce, legal and business topics. We also have excellent networking sessions, and a business-to-business General Contractor Meet and Greet. The program also includes golf, fishing, and dining opportunities. There are only a few hotel rooms left. Be sure to reserve your room and register today.

Thank you for your continued confidence in the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas - The Construction Association of Choice.
