The first six months of the year have shown an increase in residential real estate sales over the past year.

Monday's report from  West Penn Multi-List Inc. found that closed sales are up 3.24 percent and average sale price is up 2 percent in the 17 counties comprising western Pennsylvania. The number of natural gas rigs working in Pennsylvania have more than doubled from the same period a year ago.

Limbach Holdings Inc. announced Monday that it had repurchased $3 million of preferred stock from a former sponsor.

Boston Consulting Group announced Tuesday that it has acquired Downtown-based Maya Design, an innovation lab and digital design firm that has been operating for nearly 30 years.

The global management consulting firm's acquistion of Maya will help the Pittsburgh company create a fuller suite of digital services, BCG officials said.

Allegheny Health Network plans to unveil its new 23,000-square-foot outpatient center Tuesday near Westmoreland Mall in Hempfield. 

The opening of the outpatient center continues AHN's expanded presence in the region. AHN Westmoreland OBGYN, an obstetrical practice that joined AHN in 2015, started seeing patients five days a week at a nearby Pellis Road facility last year.

SHENANGO TWP. -- A company that received almost $140,000 in economic stimulus funding has committed to expand its manufacturing facility and double its workforce.

New York Blower Co., which has a facility on County Line Road in Shenango Township, will add 22 jobs over the next three years and add more than 30,000 square feet to its current 15,000-square-foot production space. UPMC and the Butler Health System on Friday announced a joint obstetric and gynecological care venture for patients in the Butler area.

In advance of a judicial sale last month, Washington County Land Bank purchased its first three properties, two in Charleroi and one in West Brownsville.
