We recently dedicated our 150th house and have started our 150th House Campaign because we want to build 150 more homes! An anonymous donor will match donations up to $5,000! Your gift of $15 becomes $30 and $150 becomes $300! Click here to make a donation to the campaign and be a part of changing the housing landscape in Cabarrus County for generations to come.

Recently, we spoke with Dr. Peter Chikes, one of the founding members of Habitat Cabarrus. Listen to what he has to say about our history, our 150th home and the impact we make in our community in our video below.

Habitat Cabarrus Celebrates
Dave Zablotny's Retirement
Dave Zablotny officially retired as Executive Director of Habitat Cabarrus on March 31, 2017,  but stayed on as an Advisor to the Board until June 30th. On June 23rd, Habitat Cabarrus board of directors, staff and community members gathered to honor Dave's work with the affiliate and wish him well on his new adventure.

Reflecting on his time at Habitat Cabarrus, Dave says  "I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve as Executive Director of Habitat Cabarrus over the past six years. It has been an honor to serve the housing needs of low income Cabarrus County families but also to serve alongside so many dedicated individuals, both inside and outside of the organization. I have been truly blessed in my time here in Cabarrus County!"

Habitat Cabarrus will truly miss Dave and we wish him a joyous retirement filled with family, travel and adventure!
After nearly 10 years of service, Shirley Kennerly is retiring from Habitat Cabarrus.

Shirley came to Habitat Cabarrus in 2007 with 29 years of experience as an educator with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. During her tenure, her role with CMS  changed from the classroom to Family Advocate/Educator. Although she loved working with families, she had no way of following up with them after the school year ended. She wanted to make a lasting impact on families and to be able to see the success achieved through strategic partnerships.
Because our beloved Family Services Coordinator Shirley will be retiring after 10 years with Habitat Cabarrus! We are looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to fill Shirley's shoes and join our team as the new Family Services Coordinator! In this position you would help us coordinate family support activities and mentor families to homeownership and beyond.
