Scout Shout Out - We Appreciate Your Leadership
See how far we can spread the word about the benefits of Scouting! Opportunity to celebrate the mission and vision of the Boy Scouts of America® and get more kids involved in Scouting.
Post Your Colors is a first-of-its-kind social activation event for Scouting, giving everyone who believes in the mission of Scouting the power to share their passion with their social networks. It's an opportunity to demonstrate the power of Scouting and reach more families so they too can benefit from Scouting. Help grow membership, increase alumni involvement, and fuel donations for the North Florida Council.

Summer is in full swing, but Team NFC is getting prepared for the fall!
We a have a new school year in the fall – and that means Sign Up Night.
Thanks to feedback from volunteers like you, and the results of a recent local research study of millennial parents, we are excited to share a NEW and improved version of the Sign Up Night that is designed to be fun, interactive, informative, organized and effective.
To communicate with Pack volunteers clearly and effectively – and to help all of us “be prepared” –
we are inviting volunteers to attend one of six 2017 Sign Up Night Kickoffs for Packs. (Again, all Pack volunteers are encouraged to attend, though please RSVP. A Scout is courteous.)
This traveling roadshow will be held on six different nights in six different locations in July. RSVP for the kickoff that works best for you.

In terms of readiness for the new school year, there is more than just Sign Up Night.
Armed with info from your District’s Program Launch in May, we hope every Pack is planning to sit down with its committee this summer to lay out a calendar and budget, creating a blueprint for an ideal year of Scouting!
This preparation is critical to ensuring that families who join Scouting later this year join a Pack that is organized, prepared and knows how to have fun!
As you prepare for your Pack Program Planning, and before learning about the new Sign Up Night, here are some key items we encourage you to discuss with your Pack Committee:
- Find copies of the materials to help you plan your “Ideal Year of Scouting” at www.nfcscouting.org/ProgramPlanning
- If you haven’t already, engage a parent to serve as the “Unit Membership Chair.”
- Update your “Be A Scout” pin. All NFC marketing materials drive families to www.BeAScout.org. Be sure your pin is active, has the correct contact and meeting information and lists a Pack website or Facebook page.
- Be prepared for Online Registration. Once you’ve updated your pin, be sure to turn ON the ability for families to register for Scouting online through your pin. Again, marketing materials will invite families to join online, but for it to work, Pack leaders must activate online registration at www.BeAScout.org
- Host a Back to the Pack towards the end of summer. This is a great way to re-engage families for the new school year. If you provide to us the date, time and location of this event, by the June Roundtable, we will mail invitation postcards to every registered member of the Pack – at NO charge. Please take advantage of this free customer service. Enter the info today at www.nfcscouting.org/backtothepack
- Update the Pack Information Sheet. This tool is handed out to new families at Sign-Up Night. Be sure to review this sheet at your summer planning meeting and turn in the completed form by the August Roundtable. You can find a fillable PDF at www.nfcscouting.org/SignUpNight
- Participate in the Lion Pilot. If your Pack does not have a Lion Den for Kindergarten, we highly encourage you to apply to enter the pilot today. We expect Lions to become a full part of the Cub Scout program in the near-future, so we’d like to see more Packs take advantage of this great program for the new school year. Sign Up today at https://www.nfcscouting.org/lion-program
Thank you in advance for planning an action-packed and fun year of program for 2017-2018.
We look forward to seeing you in July to learn about the new Sign Up Night.
HERE COMES THE S.U.N.
