Time Running Out to Register for National Car Rental Colorado Assistant Professional Championship

Time is running out to register for the National Car Rental Colorado Assistant Professional Championship set for July 31-Aug. 1 at Highlands Ranch Golf Club.  The event is open to Class A-8 Members and all Apprentices who must be eligibly employed and in good standing at the time of entry and the entry deadline date of July 12, 2017.

The Pro-Lady, set for Monday, July 17, 2017, is filling up fast! There are already 27 teams signed up with a maximum of 28 teams. Be sure to register soon to save your spot in the field!

July 26 Deadline Quickly Approaching to Register for Colorado PGA Senior Professional Championship 

Registration for the Colorado Senior PGA Professional Championship is now open! The event, open to all PGA Members 50 years of age and older as of Sept. 28, 2017, will be held at Valley Country Club, Aug. 14-15, 2017. The deadline to register is Wednesday, July 26, 2017!

The Club at Ravenna Set to Host the Colorado PGA Women's Championship -- Aug. 16, 2016
 
The Colorado PGA's Women's Championship will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22-23, at The Golf Club at Ravenna. The championship is open to all female PGA and LPGA members in good standing whom reside or work within the Colorado Section boundaries.

2017 Colorado PGA Professional Championship -- Registration Deadline Aug. 23

Registration is now open for the 2017 Colorado PGA Professional Championship set for the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club, September 11-13, 2017.  The event is open to call Class A Members as well as members classified as Life Member Active and Life Member Master Professional Active.  The entry fee for the event is $250.  The deadline to register is August 23, 2017.

Volunteers Needed for USOC FLAME Program

We are looking for volunteers to help at the USOC FLAME program on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the Club at Flying Horse from 3:00p to 6:00p. The program will include four stations for students: Full Swing, Chipping, Putting and Career Development.

Volunteer for Drive, Chip and Putt Local and Sub-Regional Qualifiers

As we are now within one year of the MSR deadline, we want to remind you that we have a number of Drive, Chip and Putt volunteer opportunities that members can take advantage of. Opportunities to volunteer are available at the following events:

July 20, 2017 -  Eagle Ranch Golf Club
 
July 31, 2017 -  Colorado National Golf Club
 
August 2, 2017 -  The Club at Flying Horse

August 12, 2017 - CommonGround Golf Course

August 19, 2017 - Walnut Creek Golf Preserve 

Volunteer opportunities begin at 7:00am for each event and run until approximately 4:00 pm. You may volunteer for any portion of the event. One MSR point can be earned for every hour of volunteering.

Danielle Kang Snags 2-For-1 at KPMG Women's PGA Championship - First LPGA Win, First Major

When Danielle Kang turned pro in 2011, it looked like the sky would be the limit for the southern California native.

After a spectacular amateur career that included qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open at age 14 and winning the U.S. Women's Amateur in both 2010 and 2011, it seemed the now 24-year-old was more than ready for the next step.

Topgolf Thornton Proposal Lands in the Bunker with Judge's Ruling Halting Project

A proposed 65,000-square-foot golf entertainment complex in Thornton has hit a major bump, after a judge ruled that the city failed to follow its own zoning laws when it granted a permit to Topgolf to move forward with the project.

Two Juniors to Represent First Tee of Denver at Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach

The First Tee announced Wednesday the names of the 81 junior players competing in this year's Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, Sept. 22-24. Representing The First Tee of Denver will be Cole Drew and Mateo Manzanares.

Go West, Young Men

Fifty years to the month after Columbine Country Club hosted the PGA Championship, Coloradan Jake Staiano, Colorado State University teammate Parathakorn Suyasri of Thailand, and UCLA golfer Cole Madey from West Linn, Ore., had reason to celebrate at the club on Monday.

The three qualified for the U.S. Amateur by setting the standard over 36 holes in a tournament field that originally numbered 83.

States Newest Golf Course Gears Up the Greens

The first new golf course built in Colorado this decade is starting to sprout.
Six holes are green and growing at TPC Colorado, a golf course underway in Berthoud, and the remaining dozen are set to be seeded by August. Private members will get the first swing at the course on Heron Lakes next spring before a full opening in June 2018.
