enate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is expected to schedule a vote Tuesday to bring legislation to repeal Obamacare outright to the floor for debate in hopes of forcing Republicans to own their positions.
"Everybody has to be held personally accountable," Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas told

++ Jailed for nullification Pamphlet.
Arrested moments after former Pastor and father of eight Kieth Wood handed out about 50 juror rights pamphlets on the public sidewalk outside the courthouse. His attorney David Kallman says it was his free speech. Prosecutor
Thiede said, "We would have a lawless nation if people were to vote their conscience."
A case that concerned Wood was scheduled about the time Wood passed out his nullification pamphlet. Wood was interested in a case in which
Andy Yoder was accused of violating the Department of Environmental Quality for draining a wetland that was on Yoder's property. Wood
was interested in the idea that the government had a say in someone's private property rights.
"He's going straight to jail today," said Judge Booher, before Wood was handcuffed and escorted out of the courtroom. He was sentenced to eight weekends in jail and six months of probation plus fines after being convicted of a one-year misdemeanor as a first-time offender. It is being appealed. After all other Mecosta judges recused themselves an Isabella judge granted bail. (Thanks, George)
Mecosta County Assistant Prosecutor Amy Clapp asked Judge Janes to issue a gag order for Wood's appeal process; Judge Janes denied it.

++ Trump Order to Rein in US Dept. of Education - regulations and guidance documents issued by the U.S. Department of Education (USED) have unlawfully overreached on education policy to the detriment of state and local control.
According to a senior USED official
Rob Goad, the order "puts an end to this overreach, ensuring that states and localities are free to make educational decisions as required by" three federal statutes that prohibit federal "direction, supervision, or control" over various aspects of education policy. In compliance with the order, a task force led by USED senior adviser Robert Eitel will "manage this process . . . and work with the public to help determine which regulations are inconsistent with federal law." The Tenets of Great Education
We believe it is the privilege and responsibility of the parent to ensure their child is being properly educated and prepared for a productive, fulfilling, life, within our capitalistic constitutional republic.
We defend public education as a legitimate function of LOCAL government.
We believe there is a legitimate role of the State Government in limited oversight duties of local public education, to ensure proper fiduciary attention and a consistency in adhering to any proper State law.
We reject the idea that the Federal Government has - or was intended to have - a role in determining when, how, or what students are to learn. Furthermore, we reject the idea that the Federal Government has been given the constitutional power to return the tax dollars to the citizens with educational mandates attached that impact the learning environment of any local institution.

++ Oxford Dictionaries selected "post-truth" as its 2016 Word of the Year -
According to Oxford, something is post-truth if it is "relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief."
Post-truth dates back to at least 1992, but its usage ballooned in 2016 by 2000%. We liken it to "situational ethics". The truth is what I can convince you of at any given moment.

In the 2004 movie The Passion Of the Christ Pilate's wife asks what is truth?
"Truth?" he snaps back. "Do you want to know what my truth is, Claudia? I've been putting down rebellions in this rotten outpost for eleven years. If I don't condemn this man I know Caiaphas will start a rebellion. If I do condemn him, then his followers may. Either way, there will be bloodshed. Caesar has warned me, Claudia-warned me twice. He swore that the next time the blood would be mine. That is my truth!"
Though Pilate uttered the word "truth" four times, he subordinated truth to his personal ramifications and desires. You see, Pilate wasn't a true skeptic. He was a cynic. A skeptic doesn't believe a truth claim until there is enough evidence for it. A cynic won't believe even when there is. Pilate is a post-truth man, living with a post-truth mindset.
