The PPE Trade Conference on October 18, 2017 at A+A, will focus on the competitive landscape in PPE distribution due to new market entries of non-traditional PPE suppliers, such as general industrial distributors and online businesses. The conference will include the following topics of interest: Digital readiness, Amazon Business and its current business strategy, the new PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, and best practices for manufacturers and distributors to interface their business processes.

MSA Safety has promoted Steve Blanco to the position of President, MSA Americas.
Mr. Blanco, 50, succeeds Nishan (Nish) Vartanian, who was elected President and Chief Operating Officer of MSA in June of this year.
"Asbestos removal work environments can be hazardous and harsh. Our aim is to develop solutions that prioritize the user´s safety and protection with systems that workers can
rely on," said Mark Andrews, Product Line Manager at Scott Safety.
D.G. Macpherson has been Grainger's CEO since Oct. 1, 2016. He joined Grainger in
2008 after working closely with the company for six years as a partner and managing
director at Boston Consulting Group, where he was a member of the Industrial Goods
Leadership Team.
"Bakeries have done an exceptional job of making sure their plants are safe," says Phil Domenicucci, baking systems manager, AMF Bakery Systems, and vice-chairman, Z50
Safety & Sanitation Committee. "The plants have done such a good job of creating safety
nets in their systems: the lockout/tagouts and other requirements requiring safety shoes,
hard hats, hearing protection, eye protection and safety meetings."
A CSX spokesperson stated that the change was being made to underscore the
i
mportance of shared responsibility between CSX and its employees, and that the
company continues to supply hard hats, safety vests and eye protection for its employees.

Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) report breaks down the data on this particular type of workplace safety risk.
OSHA Fines Jacksonville Roofer $1.5 Million
OSHA cited Great White Construction Inc., based in Jacksonville, with 14 violations and
proposed penalties totaling $1,523,710.
OSHA Pursues Employer Collaboration
OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program turned 35 last month, and the agency is looking to
reshape the VPP so it can grow, continue to highlight employers demonstrating safety and
health excellence, including long-time participants, and leverage partner resources.
