We hope you're having a great summer. Hard to believe it's already the second week in July! Thank you for taking a few minutes to catch up on the activities of YOUR Community Foundation.

2017 Watershed Bus Tour Recap

On Saturday, June 17, over 25 attendees joined us to learn more about watersheds in DeKalb County. From the start of the South Branch of the Kishwaukee River all the way to the Water Reclamation District in DeKalb, it was a nonstop morning of education, information, and included a few laughs along the way.

Supporting Youth Education at First Lutheran Church of DeKalb

Introducing the Endowment Fund in Honor of Edna L. Nelson & Kenneth A. Johnson. Created by Yvonne Johnson and First Lutheran Church of DeKalb, this fund will provide support for the purchase of children's Bibles, expenses associated with Vacation Bible School, and/or other Christian education programming for children and youth in the congregation.

Representing Philanthropy and Community Service

Meet Ron Klein. Born and raised in Hinckley, IL, Ron has a long history of philanthropy in DeKalb County. Upon his 'retirement' from legal practice in December 2013, a fund was created in his honor, the Ronald G. Klein Community Fund. This undesignated fund (community impact fund) is a fitting tribute to Ron's role in the story of the Foundation, as well as his influence throughout the County.

Scholarship Recipients - 2017

The majority of scholarship funds at the Community Foundation are administered through local high schools. A few are administered through the Community Foundation. Please join us in congratulating the scholarship recipients of the following Foundation administered funds: CHS Elburn, Harold P. Wells, and Palmer Family Music Education.

Nonprofit Day is just a few weeks away! This annual conference (July 26) brings together nonprofit professionals, volunteers, board members, and donors for a valuable time of learning, networking, and professional development.
