We currently have no diapers in these sizes. We give diapers and wet wipes out as part of the Safety Net Services Program and sizes 4, 5, and 6 always run out first. Please consider picking up a box of diapers on your next grocery trip and dropping off a donation to 3414 4th Ave

Dear Friends,

Hello and thank you for opening July's newsletter. We are trying something new and we hope you will like it. Each month will reflect different highlights and stories from our program leaders. This month we are learning from the Volunteer Program Coordinator, Terri Tork, and will also cover other  important  news and updates here at Wellspring. Enjoy!

Get to know some of our guests and volunteers! We would like you to meet...

Long-time guests at Wellspring, Doreen and Darlene

Doreen and Darlene are twins and have lived in Oak Park for most of their lives. They both come to Wellspring Women's Center for the community here. Darleen shared that she and her twin were named after two of the Mouseketeers from the original Mickey Mouse Club, which aired on television in the mid-1950's. These two fill Wellspring with joy and good cheer each time they drop in!

Volunteers Betty Hoffman and
Mary Ann Keating

Betty recently visited Wellspring with her daughter, Mary Ann,  to check on the progress of our kitchen renovation.  Betty has cheerfully volunteered at Wellspring for over 25 years. At 92, she is our oldest volunteer!  Mary Ann serves on our Board of Directors and is Betty's willing chauffeur. These women are such an important part of the Wellspring family. We are very grateful for them!

In other news...
The kitchen renovation is coming along well. We are looking at a tentative reopening date of August 3rd. We are serving many more guests than anticipated with our limited services during construction. We offer a light grab-and-go breakfast and are still distributing hygiene bags, diapers, feminine hygiene products, and bus passes. Some days have seen over 100 guests coming by. Guests are not the only ones that miss Wellspring Women's Center. Several volunteers have called and offered to help however they can. Each day we have a single volunteer who comes in to assist and other volunteers who are helping in other ways. We are all looking forward to the renovation's completion and to seeing ALL of our wonderful volunteers back in the swing of things!

Save the Date! We truly hope you will be joining us for the 30th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday September 28th, from 5:00-7:00pm, here at Wellspring. Keep your eyes open for a mention in the latest appeal and you will see an invitation soon.

If you would like to know more about volunteering
at Wellspring (the next orientation will be in August) please reach out  to Terri Tork at   [email protected] or call

You are always welcome here so please stop by the Center to say, "Hello," and to see us "in action." We would be happy to give you a tour of the renovation that is underway.

Many blessings to you!
