San Jose Transitions To VMT
San José staff will host a community meeting on June 29, 2017, to provide information about the city's shift from measuring transportation impacts under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as automobile delay or level of service to vehicle miles traveled or VMT. The meeting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Roosevelt Community Center's Multipurpose Room, 901 E. Santa Clara St. in San Jose.
Santa Clara To Hear Task Force Findings
With strong involvement from BIA|Bay Area representatives, the Santa Clara Affordable Housing Working Group's final recommendations are scheduled for a public hearing at the City Council on July 11, 2017. Click here to view the recommendations and related documents.
San Mateo To Consider Traffic Fee Hike
The San Mateo City Council will consider on July 19, 2017, a proposal to hike traffic impact fees on new development across-the-board by 20 percent. City staff says the steep increase is necessary because the rates haven't been adjusted since 2008. Click here to view the staff report and fee resolution.
South Bay RPC To Preview 2018 Election
The BIA|Bay Area South Bay Regional Policy Committee will preview 2017 election candidates and issues at its next meeting on July 13, 2017. All BIA members are invited to attend. The session will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at HMH Engineers 1570 Old Oakland Road,  No. 200, in San Jose. Please RSVP to Pat Sausedo at psausedo@biabayarea.org.

.... that all BIA|Bay Area members are welcome to attend any BIA meeting? You don't need to be an SMC or PWB member to attend their meetings and events, and all Board of Director meetings are open to the membership. This includes PASS & BRE meetings, too.
