Worship with Us this Week!
Join us this Sunday morning for our Traditional Worship at 9:30am and/or Informal Worship at 11am when our scriptures are Psalm 46 and 1Kings 19:9-18. Read and pray through these passages prior to Sunday... it will enrich you now and your worship experience later.
We will focus on being with the Holy even in silence.

Join us in welcoming Janet Spencer, guest organist, at 9:30am.

Miriam Academy is having an open house at 1:00pm this Sunday. This tour is open to the public, but you may want to wait until next Sunday (8/20, 10:30-11:00am) when PUCC is invited to a tour of the newly revamped rooms with headmaster Dr Sue Jackson...

Update on Mary Jo Cannon
I thought I'd post an update on my mother,  Mary Jo Cannon . All things considered over the last few months, she is doing well; at least much better than just a week ago. She is no longer at Mason Pointe but has moved in with my sister, Nancy and Scott Masterson. She occupies a room on the first floor and is being attended to by a home care provider called 'Martha's Hands,' who are there throughout the day to address her needs.

I'm sure my mother would enjoy visitors from any of her friends; you're welcome at any time and can come unannounced. If you want to send cards/letters to her, the address is 14225 Ladue Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017.

Thanks for your continuing prayers, love and support. The photograph below is from this past Saturday evening, 8/5/17.

_______
Please schedule 930-3pm weekday visits to Mary Jo through Kevin ([email protected] | 314-872-9330) so she is not overwhelmed and/or have three one day and then three days without ... Also, if someone wants to become the scheduler for puccers, that would be great too. Contact Kevin for that as well.

We will carpool from church to see
An Inconvenient Sequel-Truth to Power at Plaza Frontenac. The movie should provide much to discuss over ice cream afterwards. Please RSVP to either Carmen at [email protected], 314-330-0813 or Polly Winkelmann at [email protected], 314-503-4805, so we know how many to expect.
It has been 11 years since former Vice President Al Gore sounded the alarm about climate change with the film,
An Inconvenient Truth.
An Inconvenient Sequel-Truth to Power focuses on confronting climate change as the fundamental political, economic and moral issue of this century. Although much of what was discussed in the earlier film has or is currently enfolding, the sequel strikes an optimistic vein as it portrays the current economic momentum of wind and solar energy.

Luka comes home from his first day of school, and his mother asks, "What did you learn today?"
"Apparently not enough," Luka replies. "They said I have to go back tomorrow."
