Dear Parents,
The hustle and bustle of school is here!  We are looking forward to a great New Student Orientation tomorrow.  Thank you in advance to our PTA, our student tour guides, teachers, and Mrs. Ruggeri for being a part of this experience for our new Leopards. This is a great event where we get to share our Legacy and traditions.  It is also great reminder to me of how blessed I am to be a part of this amazing community.  Thank you for sharing your children with us every year.

Reminder: 
Meet the Teacher
For the 2017 - 2018 school year, Meet the Teacher Nightis scheduled for Tuesday, August 15th.  Our kindergarteners may come at 4:45 - 5:30.
Please note that our Kindergarten Meet the Teacher is NOT a come and go event. Our teachers will meet with the parents, and we will take our Kindergarten students on a tour.  Children in grades 1 - 4, may join us at 5:30 - 6:45.  While making your way about the building, you may want to stop by the cafeteria to enter money into your child's lunch account, purchase spirit wear, join the PTA, etc.  Also, be sure to sign the form in your child's class, informing us as to how your child will be getting home at the end of the day the first week of school and on a typical day.  We hope to see you on the 15
th! Please use the church parking lot for overflow parking, and please do not park in the fire lane.

 Pizza Truck at Meet the Teacher & Kona Ice
We are excited that we will be offering a dinner option for Meet the Teacher! Taylor Pizza Truck will be selling pizzas to anyone who is interested by dinner for
 their  family.  If you have already had dinner, no worries, then you can have a Kona Ice treat. This is a "Win Win"  for our families because you can feed your family and a portion of your sales will be donated to our PTA!

Class Lists Posted Tomorrow!
Check out the Lovejoy Elementary class lists on the 11th of August at 5:00 p.m., in the convenience of your own home.  You may go to the Lovejoy Elementary website under Parent Resources to see grade level.  If you prefer your child's name not be included on the Lovejoy website, please contact us at (469)742-8100.  As a reminder, we worked very hard to create balanced class lists; therefore, we honored one of your three parent requests.

Office Closed on Monday, August 14th 
from 7:30 - 12:00 p.m.!
On Monday, August 14 th , Lovejoy ISD will kick off the new school year by having our annual convocation. This is an opportunity for our entire staff to learn and be set up for success for the new school year. Therefore, our office will be closed from 7:30 - noon. If you need anything on Monday, please plan to call or visit us after 12:00 p.m.



PTA Membership
Please join the Lovejoy Elementary School PTA!  The cost is $7.50 and you will receive a Lovejoy Elementary Directory.  Also this year, you are able to sign up ONLINE!  If you choose to do so, you will be entered for FREE in a permanent parking spot Raffle that will be held on September 7th.  If you pay with cash or check, you can still enter the raffle by purchasing a ticket for $10.  To view the PTA Membership for please click here.  For online instructions, click here.


New Student Orientation - First through Fourth Graders
If you have a first through fourth grader new to the Lovejoy Independent School District, and will attend Lovejoy Elementary for the 2017 - 2018 school year, we invite you to attend our New Student Orientation on Friday, August 11th.  The event begins at 1:00 p.m. and will last until 2:30 p.m.  Parents will convene in the Lovejoy Elementary gym to receive information about Lovejoy Elementary while students participate in various fun activities to orient them with their new school. 
  • KONA ICE will be at New Student Orientation from 12:30 - 1:15.  Come early and grab a snow cone to enjoy during orientation! 

Grade Level T-shirts
This year, we are going to have a school wide shirt.  This shirt will be worn on field trips, Super Skills
Day, special spirit days and other special events throughout the year.  For more information about the shirt and to find the order form click here. 





Volunteering for the 2017 - 2018 School Year
As you know for the safety and security on all campuses, our volunteers must complete a volunteer form EACH YEAR which includes a criminal record check. Parents, please join us in the Gathering Spot at 8:05 am after you drop off your Kindergartner to enjoy a breakfast snack and drink with other Kindergarten parents!

Lovejoy ISD Pre-Kindergarten
Lovejoy ISD is accepting applications for tuition-based Pre-Kindergarten. This comprehensive program will be staffed by credentialed teachers and housed on the Puster Elementary School campus.  This program will offer enhancements in music, fitness, art, library, science, technology, engineering, and math. We are enthusiastic to provide a Lovejoy education for community members looking for a rich learning experience which will provide a firm foundation for kindergarten and beyond.

Lovejoy High School Mini Cheer Camp
