STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM:
TRANSFINDER INTEGRATION ENHANCEMENTS

Effective Monday, April 3, 2017, the BCPS One Student Information System (SIS) will be enhanced to provide tighter integration with Transfinder's Routefinder Pro software.  This software is used by the Office of Transportation for the assignment of BCPS students to buses and bus stops.  For more information about the coming enhancements, refer to Weekly Bulletin Item No. 989.  See your school's SIS administrator for documentation regarding the new functionality.

MARKING PERIOD 3:
GRADE REPORTING REMINDERS

The end of Marking Period Three (MP3) is Friday, March 31, 2017. On the evening of Monday, April 3, at 5:00 p.m., MP3 grades will be pulled from the BCPS One Learning Management System gradebook and populated in the BCPS One Student Information System (SIS) grade entry screens for grades 3 through 12.

Grades, Skills and Conduct scores, comments, effort codes and domain subject codes entered in the BCPS One SIS manually prior to that time, will not be overwritten.

Teachers are reminded that, prior to the grade reporting deadline, 1) all grades posted to the BCPS One SIS should be reviewed for accuracy, and 2) corrections to marking period grades should be made in the BCPS One SIS as needed.

NEW!   Teachers only need to enter Skills and Conduct scores for students receiving a score other than 3. Any skills and conduct scores left blank will be automatically populated with the score of 3.

On April 6, 2017 at 5 p.m.:
  • A one-time process run in the BCPS One SIS will automatically populate any Skills and Conduct scores that have been left blank.
  • Any blank Skills and Conduct scores will be populated with the score of 3.
  • After MP3 grades have been processed, administrators making changes in grade maintenance will need to update Skills and Conduct scores in order to save changes, as required now.

The grade reporting deadline for secondary school teachers is Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.

The grade reporting deadline for elementary school teachers is determined by the principal.
BCPS ONE SUPPORT MODEL:
3 STEPS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Need support? Seek assistance from your school's SIS Administrator or STAT Teacher.  How can they help?
  • SIS Administrators provide support to school staff for issues related to accessing various BCPS One sub-systems such as the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS).  Are you unable to login to the SIS or LMS?  Unable to view your classes or missing students from a class list?  Notify your SIS Administrator so they can investigate.
  • STAT Teachers provide support to instructional staff for issues related to the Learning Management System functionality.  Are you unsure of how to assign a lesson tile to students?  Need assistance in creating student groups within a class? Looking for guidance on how to plan for instruction using course maps? Notify your STAT Teacher so they can share "how to" details with you.
