BCSD teachers volunteered with the Harbor Island Sea Turtle Project to walk the beach locating and inventorying turtle nests on Harbor Island. Sea turtles typically lay eggs from the beginning of May until the middle of August.  We've Got This. #BCSD1718

We're just days away from the start of football season, and practices are in full swing across Beaufort County. Starting today, we'll visit football practice at each district high school for interviews with coaches and players. The results are in for the extended year summer reading program, and they're impressive!  The initiative assists students who need extra help with their reading skills. Of the more than 1,400 students in Grades K-4 who participated, two-thirds improved their reading levels, and most of the rest were able to maintain their skills over the summer break.
