Number of Alberta doctors prescribing marijuana jumps 50 per cent in 4 months


The drastic increase in the number of doctors prescribing medicinal marijuana is being driven by a number of factors, including improved access to information and an effort to reduce harm, according to Institute member Dr. Lori Montgomery.

Since people will use marijuana regardless, usage guidelines like the ones just endorsed by the Canadian government are more effective than abstinence-only messaging, says Fiona Clement, PhD.
