This Sunday is the 7th Sunday after Pentecost. The 8:00 am and 10:00 am services will be Morning Prayer, led by Deacon Robin Poppoff. Morning Prayer will be a nice change and I look forward to one of Deacon Robin's inspirational sermons.
Just a reminder that the Golf Tournament is coming up on August 28, 2017. Please mark your calendars. You have the choice of playing golf and coming for the dinner that evening, or if you are not a golfer, like me, or cannot golf that day, you can still come for the fantastic dinner that evening. We always have a lot of fun and the food is tasty and the music is awesome. We can even set up carpools if anyone needs a ride.
Golf Tournament baskets are due at St. Stephens on August 13, 2017 for display. This gives St. Stephen's a chance to buy raffle tickets for their favorite basket (s). The baskets are a very important part of the Golf Tournament fund raiser. Many congregation members put time, love, and money into creating these baskets and they are phenomenal.
Please keep the vestry and the Rector Search Committee in your prayers. The vestry is working hard to keep St. Stephen's operating smoothly and the Rector Search Committee is working hard to create our church profile. Please pray that God will guide us all and that we will have open hearts and minds as we make decisions for the church during this transition.
Save the Date:
Bishop Mary is leading a Transition Retreat for us on Sept. 15 (Friday evening) and Sept. 16, 2017 at St. Stephen's church. More details to come. Bishop Mary will lead us through reflective discernment as we search for a new priest. Please mark your calendar because it is very important that you attend and participate in the retreat.
Reminders:
Please bring in dry food for the Food Basket for St. Julie's and pocket change for the Food for the Poor Jar.
Please look at the Angel's Board to see if there are any tasks that need to be added or tasks that you want to volunteer to do.
There is one task that urgently needs to be done this weekend. The church will be power washed and painted beginning Monday, July 24, 2017. It will be a week-long project. We need volunteers to take down the canopy over the back patio this weekend. If you are able to help, please let Tom Good or me know.
Also, remember Andy Lief is putting together a list of tasks that need to be done for the Beautification of St. Stephen's Project. Please let him know if you have tasks to add.
