Message from the President

Dear Members and Friends:

The United States Congress has adjourned for its customary, month-long summer break. During this time Members of Congress return home for congressional district work periods throughout the entire month of August. They will attend local events, conduct town hall meetings and meet with various constituents. I encourage AMAC members to utilize this time to cultivate relationships with your corresponding Members of Congress by scheduling a courtesy visit. As I stated during our Washington fly-in earlier this year, it is incumbent upon all of us to ensure our federal policymakers understand the importance of women and minority-owned businesses to our nation's economy and local communities. You can access our Federal Priorities here. Not sure who represents you and/or your business in the U.S. House of Representatives or Senate? Access the below links:
As always, should you need assistance or have questions regarding congressional outreach with your local representatives, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Enjoy the remainder of your summer and I look forward to hearing from you about your constructive congressional visits!

Sincerely,

Krystal J. Brumfield

FOUNDATION FOCUS
Scholar Spotlight: Jalen Granville

The AMAC Scholarship has reduced the cost for me to attend the college of my dreams. Going to the AMAC Conference that was held in Houston Texas, and listening to the keynote speakers inspired me to keep moving on to conquer my goals. The quote by Chris Grosser really sums up my experience with AMAC. "Opportunities don't happen. You create them."

Jalen has been accepted to the University of Virginia and will be pursuing a degree in Engineering.
