Letter from the President
Dear AFP Friends and Colleagues:
Summer may be winding down but your chapter is gearing up! We are excited to celebrate National Philanthropy Day Educational Conference and Awards Luncheon. This year's event will be on Friday, November 3rd at the Hard Rock Convention Center. We will be celebrating some very special award winners that exhibit both professionalism and philanthropy throughout eastern Oklahoma.
We will be offering educational breakout sessions during the morning hours and then celebrating our award winners at a luncheon. On behalf of the Eastern Oklahoma Chapter, I would personally like to congratulate this year's winners: Tina Parkhill, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser; Bank of Oklahoma, Outstanding Philanthropist; Lori Long, CFRE, Outstanding Fundraising Executive; Oklahomans for Equality, Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion in Philanthropy; Taylor King, Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy; and Thomas McKeon, Ed. D., Community Impact award winner. In addition, our Spirit of Philanthropy Honorees include; Cox Communications, Dr. Blane Snodgrass, Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Allison Walden, CFRE; and Reese Goettel.

2017 CFRE Refresher Course
Thursday, September 14, 2017 - Friday, September 15, 2017
Indian Healthcare Resource Center
The two-day workshop will take place at the Indian Healthcare Resource Center and features a comprehensive review of CFRE exam materials presented by industry experts and an overview of all recently revised requirements and updates to the CFRE exam and application.
The Refresher Course will include an overview of critical fundraising aptitudes and is open to both CFRE candidates and fundraising professionals interested in growing their toolbox of revenue-building tools.
