Maine Congressman Bruce Poliquin spoke to Council members at a breakfast hosted by the Hampshire House during a visit to Boston on June 19, 2017.  Representative Poliquin, pictured here with Sheri Lauten of Eversource Energy, discussed his work on the House Financial Services Committee and recent matters before Congress.

On June 29, 2017, The New England Council partnered with the New Hampshire Bankers Association--a Council member--to host a presentation of the Council's report, The New England Financial Services Industry: Around the Corner and Around the World, which was released earlier this year.  Governor Chris Sununu gave keynote remarks, followed by a presentation on the report's key findings by PwC, who assisted the Council in preparing the report.  The event also featured a panel discussion with the following panelists:

The New England Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Malone as our new Director of Federal Affairs. Sean joined the Council on June 26, 2017.  In his new role, Sean will work primarily with the Council's Energy & Environment and Healthcare Committees on advocacy initiatives, events, and other projects. Sean joins the Council from the Office of U.S. Representative Joseph Kennedy III, where he has worked for the past 4 ½ years, most recently serving as the Congressman's Economic Development Liaison in the district office. Earlier in his career, Sean served on the staffs of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and U.S. Senator Paul Kirk. He is a Connecticut native and a graduate of Northeastern University. Sean will be based in the Council's Boston office but will also visit the Washington, DC, office on a regular basis.
