Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
As we cross from July to August, I pray that your summer is a season of some renewal and rest - meals with family and friends, enjoying God's great earth, reading books, travelling to places familiar or new.
Autumn is still on the horizon but I hope you'll mark your calendars for some special dates at St. Columba's:
August 20 - Welcome Anne Timpane on her first Sunday as Director of Music Ministries
September 10 - Sundae Sunday - we resume our regular worship schedule
September 17 - Classes and forum for all ages resume
October 1 - Fall Parish Gathering - come learn highlights of the coming season
November 19 - Annual Parish Meeting - This new date for the annual meeting and elections is intended to help the vestry, clergy and staff design and plan more effectively.
We'll welcome two new seminarians this fall, Margie Baker and Bill Baker - same last name, but not related. We'll also welcome returning friends - the Rev. Jay Sidebotham on October 15 and the Rt. Rev. Bill Swing on October 22. Parishioners young and old, newcomers and long-timers will all be invited to sign up for Circles of 7-8-9 - and so much more.
