Freedom 5K Race & Walk at 8am
Join us for a patriotic start to July Fourth! The day of family fun begins with the 4th Annual Ocean Pines Freedom 5K.
A portion of the proceeds from the 5K will be donated to Athletes Serving Athletes. This family-friendly race will go around the beautiful Veterans Memorial Park, cross Ocean Parkway and travel through the Ocean Pines community, past the South Gate Pond to the finish line near the Veterans Memorial.

July Fourth Celebration at 10am
The Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department will host a day of fun at the Veterans Memorial site from 10am - 2pm.
Water-slides, carnival games, a dunking booth and concessions are all part of this celebration. The fee for a water bounce wristband of fun is $6 per participant.

July Fourth Fireworks at Dusk
Join the Ocean Pines community for a special fireworks display sponsored by the Ocean Pines Association.
The fireworks display will begin shortly after dark. Recommended viewing locations are Showell Elementary School, the Community Church at Ocean Pines, Most Blessed Sacrament School and The Pavilions. The rain date for this event is Wednesday, July 5.

The Ocean Pines Pickleball Club sponsored its first "Anyone Can Win Tournament" on Saturday, June 24. Thirty-two players competed, with the team of Dick Ziegler and John Hanberry, Jr. winning in the playoffs against Lisa Boyle and Cathie Yow. A special thanks to tournament directors Frank Creamer and Phil Quinto and other volunteers, including Meg Beckerman, Bruce Reed and John Hanberry.

Working alongside Racquet Sports Complex Manager Erin Starr, Pickleball Club volunteers will teach pickleball to kids enrolled in All-Aces Tennis Camp this summer (see the upcoming events in the Recreation and Parks Department section of this email for more information about the camp). Several courts will be reserved for these clinics, which will be held on July 12 & Aug. 9
